We make films with nerve.
Buffalo Media is an independent film and television production company based in Melbourne, Australia. We make bold, character-driven stories — from queer romance to Ozploitation horror — and take them to festivals, markets and audiences around the world.
Founded and run by producer Andre Lima and director John Sheedy, Buffalo Media develops, finances and produces feature films, short films, series and music videos with Australian and international partners.
Our work has premiered at Adelaide Film Festival, Oberhausen, Iris Prize and Screamfest, screened at Fantasia, MIFF, BFI Flare and Frameline, and won awards including the Iris Prize, Best Australian Short Film at MIFF and the Screen Producers Australia award for Short Film Production of the Year.
We have taken our slate to MIPCOM, Frontières, the American Film Market and the European Film Market, and work with partners including Screen Australia, VicScreen, the South Australian Film Corporation, Umbrella Entertainment and Shudder.
